Gravity Lab ← Back to space

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026

The short version. Gravity Lab is a free place to explore space in your browser.

Who we are

Gravity Lab (“we”, “us”) runs the website at mygravitylab.com. This policy explains what happens to information when you use it.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. You don't sign up, log in or give us your name, email address or anything else to use Gravity Lab. We don't ask for your location, and we never use your device's camera or microphone.

What's saved on your device

Gravity Lab keeps a few things in your browser's local storage:

This information stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can erase it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. The site then simply starts again on its defaults.

We don't use cookies.

Our hosting provider

The site is delivered by Cloudflare. Like any web server, it briefly processes technical information to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. This includes your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We don't use this information to identify or profile anyone.

Counting visits

To know how many people use Gravity Lab, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It counts page visits and measures how quickly pages load, and reports them to us only as totals — for example, how many visits came from each country or which browser was used. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't store anything on your device, and doesn't track you from site to site or build a profile of you.

Services that supply the universe

To show real maps, imagery and orbits, your browser loads some content directly from these providers. As with any website, they receive your IP address and basic browser information when they send it. Their own privacy policies apply.

Two tools look up places on Earth: the impact and nuclear-blast simulators. When you use them, the map coordinates of the spot you choose are sent to BigDataCloud, OpenStreetMap Nominatim and Overpass to name that place and describe what's around it. This is the location you picked on the globe, not your own location.

Narration

The commentator's voice comes from recordings that are part of the site, or from your device's built-in speech voices. Nothing you say or type is recorded.

Children

Gravity Lab is made for curious people of every age. Because we don't collect personal information from anyone, we don't collect it from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU and UK) either.

Your rights

Data-protection laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you rights over your personal data. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. We do not sell or share personal information. If you have a question or a request, contact us and we'll help.

If things change

Gravity Lab is free today. In the future we might add things like optional accounts, paid features or privacy-friendly visitor statistics. If we do, we'll update this page before the change takes effect and change the date at the top. Any payments would be handled by an established payment provider, and we would never see or store full card details.
